    Training Cues

    in Training Information

Here's a great article Greg sent to me today. I thought I would share it with you, as it links to the presentation on harness training. Putting words (cues) to actions is something very handy to train to your bird, so they know what you are doing. This builds trust and a relationship with your birdie friend!

For example: Whenever I have Volt out and I want to give him a hug, I say the word, "cuddles," so he knows I am not going to hurt him. When I say the word, he knows I am going to bring him close to my chest for hugs and kisses. Clear communication is key for a strong relationship with your bird.
